Does the non-contact tonometer, aka Air Puff test, make you anxious? We now have a non-air puff / no drops method of testing intraocular pressure called the iCare Tonometer. Although the iCare tonometer has been proven to be as accurate and comparable to the gold standard method of measurement in several studies, in certain cases, such with glaucoma patients or patients who are glaucoma suspects, the traditional method of measurement requiring drops, called Goldmann tonometry, may be necesssary.
