Dr. Rob Szeliga (pronounced sha-lee-ga) is Spring Hill Eyecare's founder and owner.  Dr. Rob’s family moved to Thompson’s Station when he was fifteen.  He graduated from Fred J. Page High School in Franklin, TN.  He started college and played baseball at Rhodes College in Memphis before transferring to Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, where he received a B.S. in Microbiology.

In 2005, he received his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, TN.   At SCO, he received extensive training in primary care, contact lens, ocular disease, low vision, and pediatrics.  He completed rotations at Drs. Whitley & Hughes Family Eye Care in Covington, TN and at Total Eye Care, P.A. in Memphis, TN.

After graduating from SCO, he opened his own private practice in Spring Hill, TN in November 2005.  Dr. Rob is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians (TAOP).  He currently serves as the Duck River Optometric Society's Trustee for the TAOP.   He opened the Spring Hill Sports Vision Training center in 2013, Spring Hill Vision Development Center in 2015, and The Greenhouse Dry Eye Clinic in 2018.  Spring Hill Eyecare has been a member of the Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce since 2005.  Dr. Rob serves on the advisory board for the ophthalmology referral centers Eye Health Partners and South East Eye Specialists.  He is the Member Director for IDOC, an national optometric alliance committed to the growth and prosperity of independent optometrists, for the greater Nashville area.

In the summer of 2003, Dr. Rob and his wife, Amy, got married at Spring Hill's Rippavilla Plantation.  The couple has three children: a 17-year old son, Jackson Brady; an 9-year old daughter, Londyn Everleigh; and a 5-year old daughter, Magnolia Scarlett.  Amy, a stay-at-home-mom, was previously a teacher at Longview Elementary and Chapman's Retreat in Spring Hill.  She recently wrote the children's book "Mama Loves Dolly."  They also have a mini Bernedoodle (Bernese Mountain Dog- Poodle mix) named Dixie Doodle.

Dr. Rob is an avid sports fan.  He is a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan and also follows the Tennessee Titans, Tennessee Volunteers, and Nashville Predators.  He enjoys fishing and kayaking on the Caney Fork, Elk, and Harpeth Rivers.  Dr. Rob was voted Citizen of the Year for Spring Hill/Thompson's Station in 2020.
