Insurance in eye care is unique because optometrists are providers for both vision and medical insurances. Sometimes we don't know which insurance will be billed until you are in the office. Your chief complaint, or reason for the visit, dictates which insurance applies. See the list below for a list of insurance companies with which we participate. |
VISION PLANS · VSP (Vision Service Plan) · BCBS (Blue Cross Blue Shield) · Davis Vision · Spectera · EyeMed · Superior Vision Services · NVA (National Vision Administrators) · CompBenefits · VCP (Vision Care Plan) · Cigna Vision · |
MEDICAL PLANS · Blue Cross Blue Shield** · Cigna · Medicare · United Health Care · Signature Health Alliance · Aetna · HealthSpring · Tricare · PHCS |
**NOTE: Although optometrists are licensed to treat many eye diseases, General Motor’s BCBS of Michigan plan requires that a patient with any medical complaint be seen by an ophthalmologist (eye surgeon) or file out of network for reimbursement. |
