Dr. Emy Thompson is an associate doctor at Spring Hill Eyecare. She is from San Antonio, TX. Dr. Thompson graduated from Sandra Day O'Connor High School in Helotes, TX, and received a B.S in Biology in addition to a minor in Psychology from Trinity University in San Antonio.
Dr. Thompson received her Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, TN. While training at The Eye Center Clinic at SCO, she had the opportunity to train in a variety of subspecialty clinics, including: primary care, contact lens, ocular disease, low vision, vision therapy, and pediatrics. Dr. Thompson completed an ocular disease rotation at the North Little Rock VA Hospital in North Little Rock, AR, followed by a primary care rotation at Kapperman and White Eyecare in Chattanooga, TN. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from SCO and received an award for outstanding performance in the study of ocular disease through Ocular Instruments Inc.
Dr. Thompson has a passion for humanitarian work, and has been on numerous trips both abroad and within the U.S, to provide eye care for those in need. Through the Student Volunteers for Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH), she traveled to Honduras, Mexico, Colombia, and Haiti, to provide eye exams and glasses to underserved populations. She has also participated in providing eye care with Remote Area Medical (RAM), an organization that provides care to Americans that live in remote areas where there is limited access to healthcare.
Dr. Thompson is a San Antonio Spurs basketball fan. She also enjoys hiking, reading, and traveling to new exciting places.
